Ingredients

For 6 servings

  • 1 cup Green or brown lentils
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 4 large Onions
  • 1/2 cup Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

Cook lentils in water until almost tender, about 20 minutes.

Slice onions thin. Fry in oil until deeply caramelized, 25-30 minutes.

Remove half the onions for topping.

Add rice and cumin to pot with remaining onions and lentils.

Add 2 cups water. Cook until rice is done, about 20 minutes.
